"This is one of our all-time top homes (in all categories) that we have rented!!I could rave about this home for hours!The online photos and description are spot on and just as beautiful in person. Communication throughout the process was phenomenal. The home was absolutely spotless as were all of the beautiful outdoor venues. This home is on a substantial stretch of lakeside property and the owners have leveraged this in the many outdoor gathering areas. The outdoor areas are so inspired and creative … and of course comfortable! The outdoor lighting throughout the property is on timers so you get beautiful ambient lighting in all of the little areas that you could be relaxing and enjoying.Indoors and out there is not a single detail that has been overlooked; literally everything you could want or need on this type of vacation has been provided and is likely labeled with instructions and in fantastic working order.My family thoroughly enjoyed the standup paddle boards and kayaks for an early morning paddle around the cove. We were also big fans of the hot tub after a day of water skiing and tubing on the lake.This home feels wonderfully private and secluded, but it’s just a short drive to Mooresville for groceries and restaurants.We highly recommend and would love to return!"

"I couldn’t recommend this place more. Our stay was fantastic and the hosts were amazing. If you are even thinking about staying here, it’s definitely worth checking out. The property is huge and the views of lake Norman are great. We were even able to rent a pontoon and bring it up to the dock (although be careful, tides get real low)."

"We had such an amazing stay at this lake house! You can tell so much thought went into every detail; there were multiple outdoor seating areas that made it easy to relax and enjoy the views at any time of day. We especially loved all the activities available, from playing corn hole to getting out on the water with the kayaks and SUP. The hot tub was a highlight for us, and the grill made for some great meals outside. Everything felt well-maintained and set up for guests to truly enjoy their time. We also took Cliff’s recommendation to rent a boat from 77 Water Sports, and it ended up being one of the best parts of the trip—highly recommend doing this if you stay here! Cliff was an incredible host, super responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun lake getaway!"

"Had a great time with my family here during our stay. We took advantage of the beautiful scenery drinking coffee in the mornings and using the hot tub afterwards. We saw a family of deers in the evening, which stayed a good distance from us but able to take photos! Paddle boarded through the lake and swam with the kiddos. Host’s were super quick to respond whenever we needed something. Literally can’t wait to come back with family. Obsessed with this place!"

"Situated at the end of the lane, which has several recently built large houses, this is a fabulous family home in the most incredible setting on the lake. It is very private with an amazing lake front garden which is kept looking immaculate by Pam and Carl. They live on site but are in no way intrusive to guests, indeed it was a great pleasure speaking with them ! The house is truly a home with every comfort you could wish for. The hot tub was most welcome in the heat (nice and cool) and the variety of outdoor seating and dining areas were most welcome. I cannot speak highly enough about this property, we are very lucky that Pam and Carl are happy to share it. Thank you so much!"

"Reel Whale Kept was an exceptional place! Plenty of room for the 2 families we had and some amazing views of Lake Norman. We brought our Ski boat and had a solid place to park the boat while we were there so that was a solid plus for us. The yard and outdoor spaces made this trip more special than the last trips we’ve done on the lake. The family spent much more time outdoors (including watching TV) than we have in years past. Cliff was one of the best hosts I’ve had on the site. He was very up front, provided all forms before we got there, and was always there for help and advice when needed. This one tops the list for return visits thanks to Cliff and the owners of Reel Whale Kept. We’ll be back!"

"Great location on Lake Norman, large property with several outdoor seating areas- I think 7- the most I’ve ever had on one property. Even have 2 fountains to give the calming sound of water. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels and linens provided too. Nice hot tub. Beds were comfortable Lots of outdoor games available including Bocce ball, corn hole, etc. Large fire pit. The owners were super nice and friendly and although are on site were respectful of our privacy. My family loved it!"

"Cliff was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The house was well stocked with everything that we needed. We had 3 kids under 6 and 4 adults at the house and it was just the right amount of space. The kids loved all of the different nooks on the property. The only downside is that it is further out from restaurants and the town center by car, but it is totally manageable and only a 15-20 min ride by car (w/o traffic) to some cute spots. Overall, would definitely recommend!"

"We booked a last minute stay for a long weekend. This place is gorgeous. The attention to detail and all of the little nooks to take a nap, read a book, lay on a chaise lounge outside or whatever you want to do. There is a fire pit, the kitchen has everything you could possibly want for cooking including indoor and outdoor grills. There are two tiki type areas for relaxing. There are chairs near the beach. I asked if the owners had 2 full time gardeners, and they said they just enjoy doing it themselves. The grounds are incredible. Great walking and biking paths close by, a dock right in the back yard, great restaurants within 20 minutes. The residence and the owners are simply top notch. Highly recommend."
